Joy (Mostly!) was my first composition for band. It won third prize in the Frank Tichelli International Composition Competition and is now published by Manhattan Beach Music. The title tells it all: it is a mostly fast, joyful work with a slow, poignant middle section. Joy (Mostly!) was premiered by California State University Fullerton’s Symphony Band, conducted by Mitch Fennell.
