36 minutes

Everyone knows the alliterative jingle "Peter Piper", yet almost nobody knows anything of its source: a book containing alliterative verses for all the letters of the alphabet. The "toy book" was written anonymously and first published in London in the early 19th century and later in Massachusetts (1830). It was reprinted by Dover Publications (New York) in 1970.
