Program Notes

The Monster is a programmatic work which loosely follows Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Frankenstein is ecstatic because he believes he has found the secret of life. He creates his infamous monster who is hideous and deeply unhappy. Eventually, much violence ensues and all involved suffer a violent death. Peace returns.
